Must-visit AI research labs and innovation hubs open to visitors during SuperAI week

Singapore transforms into a global focal point for artificial intelligence during SuperAI week, when the city’s leading research labs, corporate innovation centers, and community hubs open their doors or host special programming alongside the main conference at Marina Bay Sands. SuperAI, scheduled for 8–9 September 2027, draws thousands of researchers, founders, and enterprise leaders for keynotes, robotics demonstrations, and deep technical sessions. The surrounding week features satellite events, workshops, and open gatherings that make local facilities more accessible to visitors.

On-Site Innovation Hubs at Marina Bay Sands

The SuperAI venue itself functions as one of the most concentrated innovation hubs available during the week. Multiple exhibition floors host more than one hundred exhibitors showcasing AI infrastructure, embodied robotics, biotech applications, and finance tools. Attendees walk the floors to examine working prototypes, interact with live systems, and meet teams from frontier model labs and hardware companies.

Dedicated breakout AI Labs within the venue allow hands-on co-creation with software, hardware, and robotics platforms. Community Hubs, organized by partners, provide focused spaces for specialized discussions on topics ranging from agentic systems to healthcare AI. These areas remain open to registered participants throughout the two main days and often extend into evening networking sessions. The density of live demos and direct conversations with builders makes the exhibition space a practical destination for anyone seeking immediate exposure to current research and commercial deployments.

University and Public Research Facilities

National University of Singapore and Nanyang Technological University

NUS and NTU maintain extensive AI research programs spanning natural language processing, computer vision, robotics, and trustworthy systems. During SuperAI week, many faculty and student teams participate in side events, poster sessions, or collaborative workshops held near Marina Bay or on campus. Visitors can often join public lectures or open research days organized in parallel with the main conference. These institutions regularly host international researchers and industry partners, creating natural opportunities for informal meetings when the broader AI community gathers in the city.

A*STAR Institutes and Specialized Centers

The Agency for Science, Technology and Research operates multiple institutes advancing materials science, manufacturing, and biomedical applications through AI. Certain centers schedule open seminars or joint industry sessions during Singapore AI Week. These gatherings typically emphasize practical translation of research into deployable tools. Attendees who plan ahead can combine conference time with short visits to nearby facilities that welcome external observers for scheduled presentations.

Corporate AI Labs and Experience Centers

Major technology companies have established dedicated AI laboratories and experience centers in Singapore. OpenAI’s Applied AI Lab, Microsoft Research Asia’s Singapore facility, and NVIDIA-linked centers focus on real-world deployment across public services, finance, healthcare, and high-performance computing. While full lab access remains limited, several organizations arrange open houses, technical deep-dives, or partner-led workshops that coincide with SuperAI week.

These sessions frequently include live system walkthroughs and discussions of infrastructure challenges such as efficient inference and liquid-cooled data-center designs. Robotics-focused exhibitors also stage interactive demonstrations that function as temporary open labs. Booking early through event side channels or direct partner invitations increases the chance of securing a place in these limited-capacity experiences.

Community Innovation Hubs Across the City

Lorong AI

Lorong AI operates as Singapore’s primary community hub for AI practitioners, researchers, and public-sector teams. With locations in the central business district and at one-north, the space hosts regular technical talks, paper clubs, co-working sessions, and collaborative build events. During SuperAI week the calendar typically expands with additional meetups, founder mixers, and open discussions that welcome visitors. The environment encourages direct conversation between local talent and international attendees, making it a natural stop for anyone exploring the city’s broader ecosystem beyond the main conference venue.

Other co-working and innovation spaces around one-north and the central area also list AI-focused programming that aligns with the week’s schedule. Checking the city-wide event listings released closer to September helps identify sessions that require only simple registration.

Planning Visits Around the Conference Schedule

The most productive approach combines the main SuperAI program with carefully selected side events and short facility visits. Morning keynotes and exhibition time can be followed by afternoon workshops at partner hubs or early-evening sessions at Lorong AI. Many side events remain free or low-cost for conference attendees, while others open to the wider public. Advance registration for popular labs and community sessions is essential, as capacity fills quickly once the full Singapore AI Week calendar appears.

Transportation between Marina Bay Sands and research clusters is straightforward via the MRT network. Visitors who allocate one or two half-days outside the core conference hours can cover both university-adjacent events and community hubs without missing major stages. The combination of dense on-site activity and distributed city programming creates multiple entry points for exploring Singapore’s AI research landscape.
